I am wondering which love we are referring to? Love towards our creator... Love towards our parents... Love towards each other... Love towards the beauty in our life... But I believe the genuine, pure, and unselfish love is between Mother and her Children..
A person not capable of lovivng humans cannot show that emotion to his creator.A child belongs to both parents and in my opinion fathers too are capable of giving 'geinuine,pure,and unselfish love' and most of the times they do. Love is love, a very natural thing to share with others, and where ever there is love it is always selfless,pure and geinuine, otherwise it won't be called as love.
''The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.''

Thats it! Live and let others live. To me love is when we respect other person's rights on their own self and their own life and give them a chance to live according to their own wishes. In love we donot try to change others but ourselves.

We should always try to change ourselves in a better way, not ''to gain others love'', but to be able to share our love with others. One should not hesitate to do any good, be it showing our ''affection, compassion, understanding and trust'' towards others, or any small act of kindness showing our love for others..Life is too short, so love it and live it happily!!
