Carl Sandburg

I asked a gypsy pal
To imitate an old image
And speak old wisdom.
She drew in her chin,
Made her neck and head
The top piece of a Nile obelisk
and said:
Snatch off the gag from thy mouth, child,
And be free to keep silence.
Tell no man anything for no man listens,
Yet hold thy lips ready to speak.

Everything is real

Tomatoes, you know, are real

That is, if they remain tomatoes

If they try to be melons, however, they then become fakes

Though everything is real and everyone is real in their own way,

It seems we always try so hard to become fakes

(Aida and Jensen )
This is one of my favorite poem of
Mitsuo Aida, famous japanese poemer.
