yes, that's some what true, but then all the men are usually taught that no matter what their character is the deserve, or at least must get a good woman, to produce a good breed. But in the process it is usually forgotten that the good breed inherits genes from both sides,so the end result is usually not what was actually planned for...That sad thing is that sometimes this is taught by the women :)!!! its good not to be judgmental and go for our own likings and then bear the responsibility of our actions.
half the world still comprise such societies or at least such thinking! and yes, we have to unlearn all what is actually imposed on us with our knowing and then learn to do what we like to do without harming anyone else,physically or mentally..we have to realize that our life is ours and only we have the right to live it according to our wishes. And when this right is accepted in any society would be like heaven on earth:)
I think its not about equality or ambition here, but acceptance of rights to live ones life according to one's own choice irrespective of sexual or biological differences. Lets give every one their right to choose their own hell and heaven instead of guiding them toward our heaven and hell!!

That is actually a relic from patriarchal society, in which women were to continue the bloodline. The indoctrination has obviously been relentless.
